News from the November Chamber Meeting

Our annual dinner was well attended - 57 people. We welcome new directors Dick DuMond, Don Smith, Carole Raymundo. It's good to
see more people getting involved. Mary Beth Silano and Jim Thomson filled us in on some upcoming events the County Chamber has
been working on: a Winter Festival with an ice carving competition, at the fairgrounds; a Business and Home Improvement show, also
at the fairgrounds; a reprinted Travel Guide and Antique Brochure; job creation at an organic animal processing plant in Stamford, and
expansion at the Roxbury Hotel. Dick Metzger, building trades instructor at BOCES, thanked the Chamber for giving his students the
opportunity to help their community. The information kiosk they built will soon be installed on Stockton Ave. Jim again reminded
people to support their local businesses.

What an enormous turn out for the Christmas parade! It just keeps getting bigger and better every year. The decorations look great,
and the stores look welcoming. Good job to everyone involved. Thank you for all your hard work.

A HUGE THANK YOU goes to all who helped put up the Christmas lights: Rich Sarantonio, Keath Davis, Steve Hodge and brother
Dave, Ken Landry, Todd, Fred Babcock & son, Danny Hodge, Kevin Armstrong, and Larry Johnson.

Bruce Dolph informed us that he is continuing John's efforts in reopening Bear Spring Campground and getting sailboats on the
resevoir. He certainly has big shoes to fill and we wish him the best of luck. Thank you, Bruce, for taking on such a difficult position.

Any current member that has not picked up your membership plaque at Breakey Motors please do so. They are really sharp looking.

Have you started getting your OLD FASHIONED TOWN SHOPPING card stamped? For every $10 you spend at participating
merchants you get a square stamped. Then you can win cash prizes. Drawing Dec. 15th to be spent in Walton.

Don't forget the Dance for Charity every first and third Saturday at the Grange. It's great fun for only $4.

All are welcome to come to our meetings the third Tues. of every month at 6:30 in the Town Hall on North Street.
